Rune Factory Frontier’s storyline is similar, but also quite different. As you raise your farm, you explore different dungeons and face bosses as a means of uncovering a few mysteries, including the origin of the monsters coming out of machines and, ultimately, your character’s past life. There are other girls to woo and marry in the game, of course, but Mist is there from the beginning. She helps you get started on the farm and is by default the eligible bachelorette of your character, as demonstrated by Rune Factory DS’s opening cutscene before the title screen. He faints in front of the house belonging to a girl your character’s age named Mist.

Rune Factory DS’s story goes that you are a young man who wanders into town having completely lost his memory of his past, who he was, and what he was doing. With that out of the way, here we go! The Story I’m not doing this to legitimately say you should favour one over the other entirely this is based on my opinion, and you’re free to agree or disagree with it. The vast majority of these titles are identical in that you can raise livestock, get married, own and tend a farm and create your own items-not just cooking, but crafting accessories and weapons for dungeon-crawling and upgrading your farm tools (a feature not available in previous Harvest Moon games with the exception of cooking).īear in mind also, this is purely for fun and any points I give to one over the other need not be taken seriously.
